Things I know about Kelly Osbourne…

I saw her guest host a fashion show once (I think it was with Joan Rivers), and she seemed very sassy, like a regular sassy-pants girl.

She appears to be funny and good at banter.

I know that the purple hair she’s rocking these days is completely working for her in a cool, Dorothy Zbornak kind of way, and it makes me want purple hair…but I figure that I’m just going to wait for my hair to turn gray first, and then I’ll take it from there.

I’ve read that she has a penchant for, um, colorful language.

I know that she’s Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter, and that makes me wonder what Halloweens at their house were like, and what she’s getting him for Father’s Day (maybe one of the her MAC Kelly Osbourne eyeliners, perhaps?).

I know that she has a credibility for being edgy and fashionable, and I can see that edge in her products from the MAC Sharon & Kelly Osbourne collection.

Strutting down the runway first are the eyeshadows, eyeliners, and cheek and face products from the Kelly sub-collection of the mother-daughter MAC Sharon & Kelly Osbourne collection for summer 2014 (stay tuned for the four lipsticks and single lip liner in a few).

Like ice is to fire, these are cool! — as in cooler-toned than the colors in momma Sharon’s part of the release.

I get the sense that Kelly is a long-time MAC fan, because some of the re-promoted pieces, and there are a few, are products I love, too, like Smolder, Soba and Brun. The two eyeliners, and the eyeshadows in the duo, as well as one of the shadows in the quad, are re-promotes.

See the purple packaging? It’s like Kelly’s hair, and her signature graces each of the pieces.

The MAC Kelly Osbourne Bloody fantastic Quad and morning Mister Magpie Eye shadow Duo

Good morning Mister Magpie! I see that your duo has two re-promoted shadows (Soba and Brun).

Except that these versions look a little odd to me…

Not in a bad way. vain erilainen.

I mean, I know both of these bad young boys like the back of my hand (Get it? bad swatch pun…) because I wear them a ton. Soba is one of my everyday neutral browns, and I use Brun to fill in my brows every single day.

But the Soba here seems much more golden to me than the Soba I know, like it’s Soba’s second cousin or something. Brun looks a little different, too, but only in its pan, where I promise it looks gray.

Weirdly, it swatches the same.

The Bloody fantastic Quad also has a re-promoted product of its own — Shadowy lady (a matte blackened plum).

Based on Kelly’s eyes in the promotion pic, I was hoping for a bloody fantastic purple in the quad, or maybe a bloody fantastic coral, because her eyes look bad-@ss! It looks like there’s a warm coral in the crease and a bright, intense purple along her lower lash line, and when I saw that pic, I thought, “Yes! I want to go to there.”

But after playing with the quad this week, I don’t know… I just wanted much more intensity. maybe it’s because of our different skin tones, but I feel like the quad’s colors don’t look as good on me as they do on Kelly in the promotion pic.

Also, there’s the way the shadows feel. compared to the shadows in Sharon’s quad, these feel slightly harder to me and are consequently a little tougher to blend. Not sure why.

The MAC Kelly Osbourne Powder blush in Cheeky Bugger and Mineralize Skinfinish Duo in Jolly Good

Among Kelly’s cheek and face products, the Mineralize Skinfinish Duo in Jolly good seems the most special. The tan powder in the duo is too light for me to use a bronzer or contouring powder, so I use it as a highlighter. It has this really beautiful pinkish beige (a lot like hourglass dim Light)

I think if you’re a lighter lass, however, you’ll be able to rock it in much more ways — as a bronzer, contouring powder, you name it.

Kelly’s blush, Cheeky Bugger, doesn’t really set my world on fire, but it sure lasts a long time. easily all day long.

Good ol’ MAC Smolder. hard to go wrong with this tried-and-true basic black. I wore it all through last winter season when every other black liner irritated the heck out of my water lines.

But really, did they need to re-promote it? You can get it in the permanent line any old day.

Jumbo Penultimate in Rapidblack has popped up in previous limited edition releases before, and has always been a pain in my butt.

Maybe I just have small weirdo fingers, but I can’t hold it correctly for some reason. I just think it’s hard to use. The felt suggestion doesn’t have a lot of give, and I can’t draw a straight line with it. Ei suosikkini.

Celebrity makeup artist Monika Blunder’s YouTube vids. I viewed a bunch of them on the treadmill last Friday during my long run for the week. She’s worked with Megan Fox, Rosie Huntington-Whitley and Jessica Alba, among others. Her vids are really easy to follow, and I love her accent (although I’m not sure what it is).

Butter London makeup artist and manicurist Katie Jane Hughes on Instagram. I dig her FOTDs. Her style is available with a bit of an edge.

These cat eye glasses by vogue Eyewear. I need new specs and am completely lusting over these frames. What do you think — black or brown?

Dolce & Gabbana summer 2014
You know when you’re too tired to cook and just want good food to magically appear in front of you? Yeah…that’s exactly how it was last night.

Good morning, glory! I hope you had a good week. Mine wasn’t bad at all, and any week that ends with pizza and a movie ends on a high note (unless either of those is terrible).

That’s what we did. We grabbed slices for dinner and then went to see Lucy, that new sci-fi flick with ScarJo and Morgan Freeman. She plays someone exposed to a new drug who starts being able to use more of her brain power, but it comes with a big catch 22.

Not great, but not bad either. There were some cool parts, and she does kick some @ss.

Today, now, I’m just hanging out. I don’t really have any big plans. Tabs is sleeping in the other room, I just finished watering the plants (TONS of tomatoes ready to pick), and now I’m saying hello to you.

Hei.

Mitä teet tänään? Is it hot out there? It’s, uh, like death Valley out here… It was about 95 degrees yesterday, and it’s supposed to be almost that hot again today.

Yeah…we don’t have a working air conditioner, and it usually doesn’t matter because it rarely gets that hot here, but this is one of those weeks. Late in the day my office has been like a sauna, and even Tabs leaves the room.

It’s kind of funny, actually. If you could see the shenanigans and hoops I hop through to take face pics without my makeup melting off, you’d laugh. Let’s just say that I get pretty creative with fan placement, cross ventilation, towels and ice…

I feel like the 7-piece Santigolden Age collection is about two years late, but hey, I’m not complaining at all. I’m glad that last doomsday prediction was off.

New for summer from Smashbox, the release, a collaboration with American singer/songwriter Santigold, sort of has a Mayan apocalyptic theme. It features two eyeshadow palettes, which Smashbox refers to as Eye Collages; two double-ended eye liners; two lip glosses; and a lipstick…inside a ring!

I hadn’t heard of Santigold before this collection, so I looked her up on YouTube…

Some pretty catchy stuff! kind of reminds me a li’l of M.I.A.

At first I thought the colors in the limited edition launch seemed all over the place, but upon closer inspection, I think I see how the pieces fit.

There are a bunch of bright-ish colors — blues, greens, oranges and yellowish golds — held together by neutrals (brown, black and beige).

I think it’s definitely a collection for girls/guys who have a “no fear!” outlook on wearing color.

Probably not one of those collections where I’d be putting all of the pieces on my face at the same time… maybe just one or two, and the standouts for me are the Eye shadow Collages.

For $36, you get five shades in each one, which is a pretty good deal! The shadows feel super soft and creamy, and despite the fact that I find snakes hella creepy, I like the design on the pans.

Maybe it’s because I think these snakes are kind of cute.

As for the dual-ended liners, the display for the blue/gold combo was missing a cap when I saw it at Sephora, and the blue shade from the Azurite Is never Wrong/El Dorado duo was so dried out that I could barely swatch se.

So, whatever you do, if you bring it home, don’t lose that cap; otherwise, the end is nigh for yo’ eyeliner!

Also, I think the mint green shade from the Yellow/Dwarf/Green Martian duo is straight-up bangin’. I want to put that on my water line, like, yesterday.

Käytän sitä täällä valkoisella kaulattomassa takissa, koska olin mielialalla vauhdittaa sitä vähän, mutta se näyttää myös melko ihana neuletallisella tai denim-takerilla tai kaikki itsessään lämpimällä päivällä.
